Alyson Lewin

Alyson Lewin read Music at Bristol University, where she specialised in Recorder and Early Music. As a teacher in Staffordshire schools, she devoted much time to promoting the recorder in school and in adult education. She now works freelance, teaching recorder, lecturing on Early Music for Keele University, tutoring on recorder courses, running schools' early music workshops and publishing Hawthorns Music. She is a musical adviser of The Society of Recorder Players, and is Musical Director of its Staffordshire branch.

Alyson enjoys many forms of needlecraft - especially embroidery of all kinds - and has designed various kits for the Counterpoint Collection. She loves cats (The two in the photo are called Crotchet and Quaver).
