The opening Minuet and succeeding Adagio are very easy and straightforward. The Bourreé (or Bourrée? - sorry to be a Bore) will take more aplomb in fitting it together. After its arresting introduction the concluding Rondo builds up its theme as a comical conversation piece. The lively banter gives way to sentimental reminiscence in the (not marked as such) Trio, whereafter the high spirits burst out again to end in great glee. This is one 4 x 4 that does not have an uncertain future.
